Celebrate Recovery – There is a Time to Heal

Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven

Late last year, my pastor challenged the congregation at Clearbranch UMC to make a difference in our lives and in our community by getting involved in a ministry opportunity. I have always been the type of person who wants to help people, so I decided to give our new Celebrate Recovery ministry a look.

I have to admit, I was a bit naïve to think that I was going to just show up and start helping people change their lives. In fact, I learned so much about myself in the first few weeks that I feel like I am becoming a new person through my participation in the program.

I have made a lot of new friends through this ministry, and this has been a real blessing because I have not been at Clearbranch very long.

One of the leaders, who I am privileged to assist with the men’s chemically dependent small group, said something very profound.

“People often won’t seek help until the pain becomes greater than the fear.”

How true.

Celebrate Recovery has dinner, a praise service, small groups, and a café social every Friday night at our church. It is open to anyone with a “hurt, habit, or hang up.”

There are small groups for:
