This quote comes from one of my favorite satire writers from my college days, Evelyn Waugh. He was a British novelist of the mid 20th century who was, arguably, most famous for Brideshead Revisited.
I’ve read a lot about forgiveness in the last few years because of my work with Celebrate Recovery. I’ve also written a lot about staying positive, letting go of your resentments, and things like that. In that context, this quote just fits, I think.
When we argue for our limitations, we get to keep them.
